Big love ❤️

I am so proud to share this with you. I got this as a gift from Eunice Mtoni, a young person from Rwanda who I have known for the past few years through my work in that part of the world.

I got a message from her that said “this is the way I wanted to express my love for you, and finally I have done it”.

Eunice was part of the trio we brought here for the concert hall show last September and it was a life changing experience for everyone involved. I had no idea what to expect when I opened google drive link called “Eunice” – and let me tell you, what followed was me watching this video with my jaw on the floor and tears running down my face. Every minute was a wonder – new notes, new arrangements, new chords – it was such a unique and beautiful experience to watch my music in this way.

It is hard to find the words to express what this is like as a musician and songwriter, it really was just the most beautiful and moving experience. I can only imagine the work that went into this, the amount of time learning the words and the English for Eunice, the work put in by Alain on the piano, all of their work on the arrangement, the chords, the harmonies… and as for the production and musicality of her brother Elysée, the video shot by Olivier – wow! Just incredible and, honestly, one of the most moving experiences I have ever had, to hear my music interpreted in this way.

Please give it your time, leave it a comment on youtube so Eunice can read them, share it so she knows her voice is heard. Such a special thing, I feel so lucky and blessed. In a world that’s full of madness right now, this is 12 minutes 20 seconds of pure musicality, creativity, expression, love and talent ❤
